The horses—40 wonderful personalities, all Icelandic horses—take turns working every day during the season. Some are calm and steady (good for beginners), and some are a bit “spirited” (for experienced riders). Kyrkekvarn also has a number of Shetland ponies for children. All riders must wear a riding helmet, which is provided free of charge. Rain gear is available to borrow. We also recommend comfortable clothing and shoes or boots.
